Today we are not fully aware of the divine nature of these places. The majority of vaishnavas who read the vartas of 84 and 252 vaishnavas is greater than those who read about Baithakji's vartas. Approx. five hundred years back people would not have traveled through all these divine places as we do now. Because the facilities for travel have much improved. People travel by buses and by trains and reach the places easily. They enjoy the trips by offering seva and seeing the places.
Many devoted vaishnavas travel even by foot fulfilling their "Manorathas". Many may be experiencing the thrill of the visit and may come across many truths about these places. But these experiences may not be felt when you are travelling in a crowd without a good grasp of the divine nature of the place and its antecedents you cannot enjoy when you do seva or see the place. This may lead to offence. It is essential in the modern times to have a full knowledge of the divinity of the Baithakjies to understand the true form.
Shree Mahaprabhuji had travelled round Bharat three times that too on bare footed. Apshri covered from Badrinath to Kanya Kumari and Jagnnathpuri and Dwarka, thus covering North and South and East and Western regions. In many places apshri had discussions with scholars and defeated the doctrines of Mayawada and established Sudha Advaita and Brahmavada. It is sole aim to bring upliftment of Daivi-jivas. All these glimpses of history can be experienced when you visit these places.
Unless we understand the spiritual aspects of the life of Shree Mahaprabhuji, it is hard to gain a glimpse into his transcendental character. Then only we can develop firm faith. Attachment for these aspects comes from understanding the true nature.
Without firm faith in apshri's feet, our life would be meaningless. We come across to know about the adhibhautik, adhyatmik and Adhidaivik aspects of Shree Mahaprabhuji's life by visiting these holy Baithakjies and by learning their history. Hence it is essential that we acquire the knowledge of "Baithak Charitra".
With this knowledge behind, when we visit these places, we can enjoy the spiritual aspect of the place and contemplate on the lilas performed by Shree Mahaprabhuji there. The spiritual experience you go through is more important than materialistic enjoyment.
When you visit any of the Baithakjies, be dedicated in the seva, Keep your mind in the spiritual form, and try to be one with the surroundings. Seva indicates a spiritual entanglement in the object of worship. Shree Mahaprabhuji has explained the intricacies of seva to us.
Even if we are unable to visit these Baithakjies you can sit in a corner of the house in a pure state and on the greatness of the 84 Baithakjies. To achieve this spiritual seva a good understanding of the History of Baithakjies is essential. This knowledge will give us a simple understanding of holy thing.
